The instructions below provide an overview.
Some pages may display differently depending on a variety of factors, however the basic process should remain the same.
In addition, there are multiple options in terms of sharing uploads directly on Social Media, adding tags, etc. These need further discussion. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions to make these instructions clearer, please do email them to admin@historyproject.org.uk.

1. To upload, go to https://vimeo.com. Log in with email, using the details that have been provided separately (please note that the password will be changed regularly for security reasons).

2. Click on the ‘Upload’ button (top right of the screen).

3. Switch accounts from Guest (BEHP) to The BEHP (click on the down arrow at the end of ‘Upload to Guest (BEHP) and select The BEHP from the drop down menu – shown circled in red).


You will see that the smiling face at the top right has been replaced by the BEHP logo.
4. Click on the ‘Upload’ button (shown circled in red).

5. Check that there is upload quota remaining (top right, shown circled in red). The limit is 20GB per week so it is important that only properly compressed files are uploaded. Then choose files to upload (shown circled in red). For recommended file types, see https://vimeo.com/help/compression.

The video will upload automatically and you can then add additional information (title, description and language, shown circled in red). Click Save (the Save button will only appear when you have made changes. Then click on the video image on the left (shown circled in red) to view the video.

6. Play the video to test all is working correctly and then click on the ‘Share’ arrow towards the top right of teh screen (shown circled in red).

7. On the ‘Share’ page, select the share link (shown circled in red) and copy and paste it into the appropriate field in the BEHP site. If you don’t have ‘Edit’ permissions for the interviewee record, please paste the link into an email and send to admin@historyproject.org.uk for a member of the Web Team to add.
